Shocking Information About Hidden Object Games Exposed

Having recently discovered the hidden object genre, I was looking for a new challenge and saw the good reviews for "Mystery P.I.: The Lottery Ticket." So I gave it a try, and discovered a really, really average game.

Like most hidden object games, you search a series of still scenes for a list of objects. In between each level, you have a small mini-game to play. The problem with "The Lottery Ticket," though, is that there's no storyline to speak of, and absolutely no sense of progression. Ostensibly you're searching for (yes) a lottery ticket, but you never find any clues, talk to people, investigate anything: you just search and search and search, and at the end of each level you're rewarded with a puzzle piece that won't mean a darned thing until the end of the game. The locations are also pretty limited, and you don't have to do anything to unlock new ones. Early on in the game, I'd explored each location, and then I just kept going back to each one, over and over again. Similarly, the mini-game is always a variation on Concentration, and it didn't seem to get any harder (or more interesting) as I progressed.

As a bonus, each scene contains a hidden key; collect all the keys, and you unlock a non-timed mode in which you can search for every single object in the game. It's an interesting idea, and I might check it out eventually, but for now I'm pretty darned tired of those scenes. Plus, I collected all the keys early on in the game, which ended that fun pretty quickly. Overall, I don't think this game was bad, really; it was just dull, with no progression at all. If you're new to the genre, I'd recommend the "Mystery Case Files" series to see how these games should be done.

Both my sons really enjoy this, they are 7 and 5 years old. The 5 year old needs help occasionally but he can do most things on his own. We have had this game for over 6 months now and they still enjoy it. The easiest things in the game are finding the hidden objects and the most challenging ones are the problem solving ones where you have to recognize patterns, try solutions, then new solutions, etc. Also, this is very family friendly in that there is no violence or bad language. The graphics are terrific and the music and sound effects add nicely to the game. There is some reading between screens and a storyline to follow if you want so if the kids are not able to read it detracts a little from this. As an adult, it's fun to help them and it even captures my attention.

This was a nice gift and has good graphics. However, some of the tasks are difficult and can prevent you from enjoying the hidden object portions of the game. Wish it had more hints & clues built in to each phase. The seller sent it right away and in good shape. However, it's overpriced and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone else. I liked this game. It has hidden objects, puzzles and adventure. I was a little disappointed that it didn't last long enough. Before I knew it, I was at the end looking at the credits. I also wasn't sure about not being able to receive a hint when some of the puzzles came up. There was a couple of times when I looked at the puzzle for about 15 minutes and wondered, "What do I do here?"

This game is soooooooooo fun. It's one of those Hidden Objects games but with lots of different scenes and mini-games.There are over 2000 different items to find, and if you unlock the Bonus game (by finding keys in each level),when you complete the game you can find all 2000 items at your own pace.
Not that finding the items is difficult when you are timed but it is challenging.I love it!Definately worth the $.
I also love the sequel which is The Vegas Heist,At the end of both games you have to solve a lil Mystery.Nothing too hard, maybe 10 minutes or less, but I just love this game!
